We also took a lot of photos, which I’ll probably post gradually. Meanwhile, here’s one of the lovely birthday girl, with lil’ ol’ me DOF-ing.
Today, carafunk and I celebrated her 24th on the 24th!
We drove up to our family rest house where we made lunch ourselves— chicken and basil pasta with berry wine, and salad with dried sugared flowers, milk cheese, apples, grapes and croutons. Later on in the afternoon we picnicked outside, with a couple good books and strawberries, my pretty Austrian tea and her homemade macarons and strawberry cake.
Ate at Casa Roces again today— I tried something new (Lenguado Meuniére á la Beurre Noisette), and this time carafunk and I managed some camwhoring in their lovely upstairs toilet and private rooms.

La Vie En Rose sweets is owned by my cousin/bestfriendintheuniverse, carafunk, and I can tell you without bias that these cupcakes are exactly what the description says and more— I had to restrain from gobbling all of them right away while I was shooting. So head on over there!

Yesterday was spent baking at carafunk’s kitchen. Or rather, she sampled a recipe for an upcoming bake sale while I served as taste-tester and critic, occasionally handling the electronic mixer and dancing around while she worked.
And here is the successful outcome: dainty, moist strawberry cupcakes with white chocolate-buttercream and rose essence.
