Hmm. I’d say The Divingbell and the Butterfly, but then again it’s more of a memoir, so The Virgin Suicides is probably my favorite novel.

It’s the title and the fact that the narration is in first-person plural personal (sometimes possessive) pronoun— We. Us. Our. These basic things are were just so intriguing the first time I picked up the book.
And then you’re immediately plunged into a suicide attempt and afterwards thrown into a spiral of bittersweet words and compelling, provocative events of adolescent love, haunting tact, dark humor, melancholy, deterioration… and then you find that you yourself are obsessed just as the narrators carry a fixation for the girls.
I can never get sick of reading this book anew.
